The Crossing Backpackers is located at Erua Village, 6 km south of National Park Village at Mt Ruapehu. We can be found within 4 hrs driving from Auckland and 4 hrs from Wellington.
We are centrally located between the biggest Ski fields in New Zealand, Whakapapa and Turoa. Whakapapa is 20 mins drive from the lodge and Turoa can be found within 40 mins. This means you can easily ski or board both in one day!!
Located in Tongariro World Heritage Park, The Crossing Backpackers is surrounded by native bush and forest. It is tranquil and amazingly beautiful out here. We are looking forward to welcoming you.
