The Crossing Backpackers is located at Erua Village, an old woodmill site, right next to the world famous Tongariro National Park.
This makes us the perfect place of origin for skiing/ snowboarding in winter and hiking in summer.
New Zealands biggest ski fields, Whakapapa and Turoa, are within a short drive from our Lodge. You can access Whakapapa within 15 mins and Turoa within just 25 mins.
The Tongariro Crossing, rated one of the worlds best day- walk, is the perfect choice for an awesome experience on a sunny summer day.
